Our most popular field trip! Get an introduction to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. Learn how we rescue marine mammals and nurse them back to health in order to give them a second chance at life.

A dynamic presentation comparing and contrasting sensory systems of marine mammals and humans and why they are different. Learn how marine mammals are exquisitely adapted to life in the ocean and discuss human impacts making it harder for them to use their senses for everyday living.

Learn about California sea lion life history and ecology. Learn about what they need to survive, what threats they face and how you can help!

Meet patients being cared for at Pacific Marine Mammal Center’s hospital and hear their stories. Take a tour and observe procedures that help them recover. Discuss human impact on the animals and their environment and environmentally friendly practices that can help.

Discover the urgent need to address threats to marine mammals. Using critical thinking skills, participants design a solution to alleviate a threat, while learning about ocean careers. This program raises awareness of the interconnection between people and the ocean and empowers participants to help restore it.

Curious about marine mammals? Chat with an expert about them! Topics include: marine mammals-general, marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation, marine mammal conservation and law, marine mammal research, or marine mammal careers. After our program speaker introduces him/herself, your audience takes the lead by asking questions within one of those topic areas.
